Krista Luijten is Chief Data Officer for Finance & Risk at ABN AMRO, where she leads the bank’s transformation toward a fully data-driven Finance & Risk organisation. In this role, she is responsible for strengthening ABN AMRO’s Data & IT landscape, ensuring enterprise-wide data compliance (including BCBS239), and elevating the quality and accessibility of data used for reporting, modelling, and decision-making.
With more than a decade at ABN AMRO, Krista has held senior leadership roles across risk data, modelling, and innovation. As former Head of Risk Data, she drove major improvements in the bank’s risk-data foundations, enabling fact-based reporting and decision-making. Earlier, she led initiatives in AI-driven risk management, coordinated risk innovation programs, and enhanced credit-chain processes.
Krista is widely recognised as a senior change and innovation leader with deep expertise in data architectures, analytics, and multi-disciplinary team scaling. Her work focuses on using AI, advanced analytics, and modern data governance to deliver operational efficiency, regulatory excellence, and competitive advantage for the bank.
She previously worked as a consultant in financial services and held leadership roles at Rabobank and RBS, driving large-scale change, integration, and optimisation programs across Europe.
Krista holds an MBA in Strategic Management & Consultancy and has completed advanced executive education at INSEAD, Oxford Saïd Business School, MIT, and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
