Giorgi Shagidze has served as Chief Executive Officer of Moldova Agroindbank (maib) since May 2021, where he has successfully led the bank's digital transformation and maintained its position as Moldova's market leader in loans, deposits, payment cards, and other key banking metrics. Under his leadership, maib has strengthened its position as Moldova's largest bank while modernizing its operations and digital capabilities.
Before joining maib, he spent a decade at TBC Bank Group PLC in Georgia as Deputy CEO, CFO, and COO (2010-2020), where he led several significant initiatives including the bank's successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange, managed multiple acquisitions, and raised approximately $2.5 billion in capital. His track record includes overseeing the establishment of TBC's subsidiary in Uzbekistan and chairing Payme.uz, where he drove substantial growth in customer base and revenue. Shagidze holds an MBA from the University of Cambridge.
