Abdelhakim Benamara currently serves as Deputy Head of Retail Europe-Mediterranean at BNP Paribas, assuming this role in March 2024. Prior to this, he held several strategic positions within BNP Paribas, including Head of Retail Africa region (2023-2024), where he oversaw performance, transformation, and regulatory matters across African operations while also leading payments strategy and omnichannel programs.

His extensive experience at BNP Paribas spans over 12 years, including significant contributions to the bank's international retail operations. At UkrSibbank, BNP Paribas' Ukrainian subsidiary, he served as Deputy Head of Retail & SME (2009-2012), where he successfully led the deployment of multichannel systems and the creation of internet banking platforms, managing teams of over 100 people. Earlier in his career, he held positions in consulting and ATM operations within BNP Paribas French Retail Banking. Benamara holds engineering degrees from Centrale Méditerranée and Pierre and Marie Curie University, along with additional studies at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
