Kilian Thalhammer serves as Managing Director and Global Head of Merchant Solutions at Deutsche Bank since September 2020, where he leads the bank's global issuing and acceptance business across Europe, APAC, and the US. He is also responsible for the bank's relationships with technology, fintech, and platform clients globally, as well as its embedded finance initiatives.

His expertise in the payments industry is reflected in several strategic advisory roles, including Member of the Advisory Board Europe at Mastercard (since 2021) and Member of the Supervisory Board at EURO Kartensysteme GmbH. Before joining Deutsche Bank, he served as EVP Product Management at Wirecard (2018-2020). Thalhammer holds multiple degrees, including an Advanced Management Program from the University of St. Gallen, dual MBAs from Boston University and the University of Würzburg, and a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Munich.
